Senior Project Manager

Senior Project Manager Highlights:

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the successful implementation and completion of all commercial projects, ensuring they are executed safely, on time, and within budget. This pivotal role plays a crucial part in driving revenue and profitability for the organization while maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders, subcontractors, and clients.

·         Profit: Drive project profitability through efficient resource allocation and cost management.

·         Schedule: Ensure projects are completed on time by closely monitoring schedules and addressing any delays promptly.

·         Process Adherence: Ensure adherence to company processes and procedures to maintain consistency and quality across projects.

·         Financial Risk Management: Identify and mitigate financial risks to project budgets and profitability.

·         Communications: Maintain clear and effective communication channels with stakeholders, subcontractors, and team members.

·         Responsibilities:

·         Manage projects from inception to completion, ensuring profitability and adherence to schedules.

·         Utilize project tracking software such as Procore and MS Project.

·         Generate monthly cost-to-complete reports.

·         Lead and organize daily operations, addressing site issues and ensuring smooth progress.

·         Prepare detailed job cost and forecasting reports using Procore and Sage 300.

·         Submit construction project budget estimates, contracts, change orders, and RFIs accurately and promptly.

·         Foster strong relationships with owners, trade contractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.

·         Interpret and manage contractual obligations effectively.

·         Conduct bi-weekly meetings with trade subcontractors and superintendents.

·         Implement quality control policies and procedures, focusing on continuous improvement.

·         Provide clear communication and guidance to team members at all levels.

·         Collaborate with other departments and managers to ensure project success.

·         Qualifications and Education Requirements:

·         Minimum 5 years of progressive Project Management experience in commercial construction.

·         10 years of overall construction industry experience.

·         Demonstrated success managing projects in the $5M range.

·         Post-secondary education in a relevant field; CET or Engineering degree preferred.

·         Preferred Skills:

·         Comprehensive knowledge of construction trades, safety standards, and techniques.

·         Familiarity with local, provincial, and federal regulations and building codes.

·         Expertise in labor relations and procedures.

·         Desire to mentor and coach junior team members.

·         Strong leadership, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.

·         Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.

·         Proficiency in project management methods and contract fundamentals.

·         Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.

·         Flexibility to adapt to shifting priorities and deadlines.
