Estimator

An Edmonton client is searching for an Estimator to join their team.

Estimator Highlights:

·         Review and analyze data, including analysis reports, purchase orders, and subcontracts, to support the estimation process.

·         Prepare updates and project estimates for bid submissions.

·         Oversee the filing of documents such as receipts and purchase orders.

·         Gather information necessary for producing project estimates.

·         Price new work and accurately take-off quantities, with 20% of the job requiring this task (training provided by other estimators).

·         Prioritize estimating based on client importance, competition, bid deadlines, likelihood of success, and type of work.

·         Schedule and lead handoff meetings with assigned Project Managers.

·         Collaborate with management to create and maintain project schedules.

·         Maintain pre-bid documentation and perform contract reviews to ensure correct scope.

·         Work with assigned management on crew assignments and scheduling.

·         Generate and track submittals, ensuring timely pricing of change orders.

·         Track job costs and material yields to inform accurate estimates.

·         Maintain strict control over contract documents.

·         Ensure accurate invoice coding for projects.

·         Qualifications:

·         3+ years of prior experience in estimating within a construction environment.

·         Excellent math skills and proficiency in MS Excel.

·         Thorough and timely in all aspects of work.

·         Ability to multitask effectively and prioritize tasks based on project needs.

·         Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

·         Proficient in math, algebra, geometry, and plan reading and interpretation.

·         Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

·         Strong interpersonal skills to develop trust and relationships with customers and colleagues.

·         Physical Requirements:

·         Clarity of speech and hearing for effective communication.

·         Ability to sit for prolonged periods and perform routine office duties.

·         Sufficient manual dexterity for tasks such as data entry and paperwork.

·         Personal mobility and physical reflexes to perform office duties and travel as needed.

·         Ability to wear and properly utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) as required for the work environment.

·         Safety Requirements:

·         Adherence to workplace safety training and active participation in maintaining a safe workplace.

·         Regular attendance and punctuality are mandatory.

·         Legal Requirements:

·         Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.

·         The company does not sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment visas.

 

Estimator Hours & Wage: 

  • Monday to Friday: 8:00 am – 4:30 pm

  • $80,000 – $130,000/year
