Project Manager

An Edmonton client is searching for a Project Manager to join their team.

Project Manager Highlights:

·         Participate in estimates and proposals, collaborating with the estimating team initially and gradually taking on a more hands-on role.

·         Conduct estimate debriefs with estimators and construction teams, ensuring a smooth transition of estimates into control budgets in eCMS.

·         Collaborate with the lead accountant to analyze deviations from estimates, providing cost analysis approved by the operations manager.

·         Work closely with the lead accountant to complete cost projections and conduct weekly cost review meetings with the construction team.

·         Manage project schedules, aligning them with estimate schedules, and hold weekly reviews with the construction team.

·         Coordinate with the buyer/warehouse to ensure timely availability of materials, preventing hindrance to the construction team.

·         Serve as the contract expert for assigned projects, swiftly communicating any deviations or impacts to clients in adherence to contract terms.

·         Oversee change management for Time & Materials scopes, ensuring proper documentation and signoff by the operations director.

·         Act as the main point of contact for clients, conducting weekly status update meetings and issuing detailed meeting minutes to the operations and construction teams.

·         Ensure accurate accounts receivable, accounts payables, Work in Progress (WIP), and cash position in line with company expectations.

·         Coordinate with the construction team to complete job end reports and submit actual production data to the estimating team.

·         Prepare bills of material and equipment for pricing and/or purchase, working closely with the buyer.

·         Check warehouse availability of materials for projects and requisition necessary items for transfer to the project.

·         Lead and participate in safety meetings, enforcing safety policies on the project.

·         Visit job sites to check work in progress and analyze labor, equipment, and material costs.

·         Support business development efforts, strengthen customer relationships, and contribute to sales presentations and routine sales calls.

·         Perform other related duties and projects as assigned.

·         Qualifications:

·         Minimum 15 years of experience in industrial construction.

·         Minimum 5 years of project management experience.

·         Significant refractory experience or PMP/engineering background.

·         Proficiency with MS Project, MS Word, MS Excel, and related software tools.

·         Analytical with strong organizational and communication skills.

·         Mechanical aptitude and ability to handle multiple projects concurrently.

·         Strong team-building and customer orientation skills.

·         Technical proficiency in project management, quality assurance, and costing.

·         Essential Skills:

·         Analytical and strong organizational skills.

·         Proficiency with MS Project, MS Word, MS Excel, etc.

·         Mechanical aptitude.

·         Strong team builder.

·         Strong customer orientation.

·         Technical skills in project management, quality assurance, and costing.

·         Demonstrated ability to produce results through others.

·         Planning/Management: able to handle several projects concurrently and ensure that each is progressing as required.

Project Manager Hours & Wage: 

  • Monday to Friday: 8:00 am – 4:30 pm

  • $120,000 – $160,000/year
