Payroll Specialist

 

An Edmonton client is searching for a Payroll Specialist to join their team.

Payroll Specialist Highlights:

·         Process payroll for departing employees, ensuring accurate and timely payment.

·         Manage both Canadian (CAD) and US payroll systems.

·         Proficiency in ADP Workforce Now and HRIS systems is required.

·         Process payroll for 300 employees, including 200 CAD and 100 US employees, a mix of hourly and salaried workers.

·         Conduct weekly payroll processing for CAD and US employees, with US payroll processed on Mondays and CAD payroll processed on Tuesdays. Ensure employees are paid every Friday.

·         Handle multiprovince payroll for provinces including Ontario, Saskatchewan, British Columbia, and Alberta (as well as US states), ensuring compliance with relevant tax and labor laws.

·         Manually process benefit deductions in ADP and set up new benefits as required.

·         Complete yearend reporting tasks such as T4s.

·         Report to the Controller.

·         Work Monday to Friday in an office setting, although remote work is possible.

·         Proficiency in US payroll is desirable but can be learned on the job, including understanding different state and tax requirements.

·         Prepare payroll reports for audits, utilizing ADP for data extraction.

·         Generate RRSP remittance reports monthly.

·         WCB filing responsibilities are currently managed by another team member.

· The position is available as a permanent full-time role from day one or as a contract-to-permanent option.

·         Completion of the Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation is preferred but not required.

·         Minimum of 5 years of payroll experience is required.

Payroll Specialist Hours & Wage

·         8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday

·         $80,000/year
