Project Accountant
An Edmonton client is searching for a Project Accountant to join their team.
Project Accountant Highlights:
· This is a newly created role to alleviate workload.
· The company has experienced substantial growth with multiple projects ongoing across Alberta (AB) and British Columbia (BC).
· Recent expansions into Calgary and upcoming operations in Ottawa.
· The company owns and rents out buildings, generating revenue ranging from $20M to $40M.
· Responsibilities:
· Maintain project ledgers and oversee full-cycle project accounting from setup to closeout.
· Review and correct cost coding discrepancies, ensuring accuracy in budget maintenance.
· Issue purchase orders and assist with change order processes.
· Conduct profitability and performance analysis for projects.
· Read and understand project contracts and subcontractor documentation to align project setup procedures with contract terms.
· Prepare monthly lender draws and assist with year-end preparations and audits.
· Handle monthly GST reporting and reconcile accounts.
· Perform ad hoc projects and other assigned duties as needed.
· Qualifications:
· Near completion or recently completed CPA designation.
· 2-3 years of experience, preferably in the construction industry.
· Ability to work full-time in an office setting.
· Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
· Advanced troubleshooting and communication abilities.
· Self-motivated and capable of working independently or within a team.
· Excellent analytical skills and accounting knowledge.
· Compensation and Benefits:
Project AccountantHours & Wage
· 08:00 AM to 05:00 PM – Monday to Friday
· $60,000 to $70,000/year
