The successful candidate will provide financial oversight, manage reporting across Canada, the U.S., and Chile, and support operational and project-based finance needs.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Finance Director, the Assistant Controller will play a key role in the timely delivery of consolidated financials, support for project accounting, regulatory compliance, and external audit preparation. You’ll lead a small Edmonton-based team while collaborating with international offices and cross-functional partners.

    • Review over 200 monthly account reconciliations, most of which are schedule-driven and system-supported.

    • Assist the team with complex accounting entries and troubleshoot potential financial statement variances during close.

  • Project-Based Financial Support

    • Liaise with operations on job costing, reporting, and performance analysis for 1,000+ active projects ranging from $1K to multi-million-dollar scopes.

    • Provide financial expertise to support operations teams and project managers.

  • Systems & Tools

    • Leverage Microsoft Excel daily; familiarity with NetSuite and Power BI considered a strong asset.

    • Experience with Hyperion or similar consolidation tools is also beneficial.

  • Compliance & Process Improvement

    • Oversee month-end timelines (targeted completion by the 7th working day).

    • Collaborate with internal departments to implement consistent and efficient accounting practices.
