We’re hiring an Accounts Receivable (AR) Collections Clerk to join a fast-paced, high-volume AR team. This role is ideal for someone with exceptional customer service skills who enjoys balancing payment posting, collections, and account reconciliation—while maintaining accuracy and professionalism under pressure.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the AR Manager, the AR Collections Clerk will manage an assigned AR portfolio, process payments daily, follow up on overdue accounts, and maintain accurate records in the company’s ERP system. This is an on-site position with a rotating shift schedule and a focus on both payment posting and proactive collections.
Key Responsibilities
Portfolio Management
Oversee 700–850 assigned customer accounts.
Monitor overdue balances and maintain positive relationships while securing payments.
Payment Posting
Post branch payments daily for 16 branches and EFT payments by 10 AM (shared with one other team member).
Process credit card payments and ensure timely application to accounts.
Collections & Customer Service
Make collection calls and send emails as needed to recover outstanding amounts (average call/email volume based on account needs).
Follow established collection strategies, while contributing new ideas to improve results.
Record Keeping & Reporting
Maintain accurate documentation in the Solar ERP system.
Generate monthly AR aging reports summarizing collection efforts (approx. half a day to complete).
Collaboration & Problem Solving
Liaise daily with internal and external customers.
Resolve billing discrepancies and investigate account issues.
Contribute to process improvements for AR operations.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Certificate from college/technical school (1 year) + 6–12 months of related experience, or equivalent.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel); experience with Eclipse Solar ERP is an asset.
Strong multitasking ability—comfortable balancing phone calls, emails, remittance processing, and data entry simultaneously.
Calm and professional under pressure, with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including phone etiquette.
Able to work independently and as part of a small, collaborative team.
Work Environment
Location: Edmonton, AB
Schedule: Rotating shifts—7:30 AM–4:00 PM / 8:30 AM–5:00 PM (weekly rotation with team member)
Work Setting: On-site only (no remote work)
Dress Code: Business casual
