Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a solution-oriented PLC Technician (1st Shift) to join our maintenance team. This integral role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on problem-solving and thrives in a state-of-the-art facility that values safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure compliance with all policies and procedures related to Health & Safety, Food Safety, and Environmental standards.
Install, calibrate, program, troubleshoot, and commission electrical and instrumentation devices such as VFDs, transmitters, flow meters, motors, power panels, and PLCs.
Perform scheduled checks and preventive maintenance on packaging lines, transfer systems, robotics, and weighing systems.
Write, modify, and troubleshoot PLC logic code and read logic ladders.
Assist with or alter HMI graphics as needed.
Act as the technical lead in troubleshooting production line and process issues.
Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
Maintain accurate logs and records of PLC repairs, system changes, and maintenance tasks.
Collaborate with multiple departments to coordinate repairs and align production goals.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Proven experience as an Automation Specialist or PLC Technician with hands-on troubleshooting of control, electrical, and instrumentation systems.
Proficiency with Allen Bradley PLCs, Rockwell ViewPoint, FactoryTalk View SE/ME, and Vantage Point. Familiarity with Ignition, SQL, and Python scripting is an asset.
Ability to interpret technical documentation, including P&IDs, signal flow diagrams, loop sheets, and wiring diagrams.
Strong analytical and mechanical aptitude, with a methodical approach to complex problems.
Capable of working independently and collaboratively in a team-based environment.
Effective communicator, both written and verbal, with strong organizational skills.
Comfortable working under pressure in a flexible, agile production environment.
Must be able to pass a Drug & Alcohol test, Fit-to-Work assessment, and Criminal Record Check.
Availability to work Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend shifts as needed.

Starting hourly rate of $43.63, with an afternoon shift premium of $2.00.

Working Conditions:
Production environment with exposure to noise, dust, odors, and temperature variation.
Standard shift is 5:30 AM to 2:00 PM, with flexibility required for alternative shifts.
Role requires manual dexterity and the ability to lift up to 25 kg safely.
Use of computers, tools, and production equipment as part of daily responsibilities.
