About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and customer-focused IT Support Technician (Tier 1) to join their team on a short-term contract basis. This role is responsible for providing day-to-day technical support to internal employees, handling onboarding and offboarding processes, supporting Microsoft environments, and assisting with hardware and user administration. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting approximately 325 internal users across multiple locations while ensuring smooth IT operations and exceptional internal customer service. Job Title: IT Support Technician (Tier 1)
Term: 2-Month Contract
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Work Arrangement: Hybrid – Monday & Friday work from home | Tuesday–Thursday in office
Compensation: $30.00 – $35.00/hour
Start Date: ASAP

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Support & Troubleshooting

    • Provide Tier 1 technical support to internal employees across the organization

    • Troubleshoot login, email, Microsoft Teams, desktop, and hardware-related issues

    • Resolve approximately 15–20 support tickets daily through the Freshservice ticketing system

    • Escalate complex technical issues to senior IT personnel as required

    • Provide professional, calm, and solution-focused support to employees experiencing technical issues

  • User Administration & System Support

    • Set up and configure laptops, user accounts, and mobile devices for new employees

    • Manage onboarding and offboarding activities, including user permissions and access changes

    • Support Active Directory and Microsoft 365 administration tasks

    • Assist with Azure-related user administration and support

    • Ship and coordinate laptop setups for remote branch employees

  • IT Operations & Collaboration

    • Support approximately 325 internal users across multiple locations

    • Work closely with the existing IT support team in a collaborative office environment

    • Maintain accurate support documentation and ticket updates

    • Assist with high-volume onboarding and workforce ramp-up activities

The Ideal Candidate

  • Required

    • 5+ years of IT support or helpdesk experience

    • Strong working knowledge of Azure, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and Windows environments

    • Experience with onboarding/offboarding and hardware provisioning

    • Previous experience using ticketing systems

    • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities

    • Excellent communication and phone support skills

    • Ability to manage multiple support requests in a fast-paced environment
