Our client is seeking an experienced and customer-focused IT Support Technician (Tier 1) to join their team on a short-term contract basis. This role is responsible for providing day-to-day technical support to internal employees, handling onboarding and offboarding processes, supporting Microsoft environments, and assisting with hardware and user administration. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting approximately 325 internal users across multiple locations while ensuring smooth IT operations and exceptional internal customer service. Job Title: IT Support Technician (Tier 1)
Term: 2-Month Contract
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Work Arrangement: Hybrid – Monday & Friday work from home | Tuesday–Thursday in office
Compensation: $30.00 – $35.00/hour
Start Date: ASAP
Key Responsibilities
Technical Support & Troubleshooting
Provide Tier 1 technical support to internal employees across the organization
Troubleshoot login, email, Microsoft Teams, desktop, and hardware-related issues
Resolve approximately 15–20 support tickets daily through the Freshservice ticketing system
Escalate complex technical issues to senior IT personnel as required
Provide professional, calm, and solution-focused support to employees experiencing technical issues
User Administration & System Support
Set up and configure laptops, user accounts, and mobile devices for new employees
Manage onboarding and offboarding activities, including user permissions and access changes
Support Active Directory and Microsoft 365 administration tasks
Assist with Azure-related user administration and support
Ship and coordinate laptop setups for remote branch employees
IT Operations & Collaboration
Support approximately 325 internal users across multiple locations
Work closely with the existing IT support team in a collaborative office environment
Maintain accurate support documentation and ticket updates
Assist with high-volume onboarding and workforce ramp-up activities
The Ideal Candidate
Required
5+ years of IT support or helpdesk experience
Strong working knowledge of Azure, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and Windows environments
Experience with onboarding/offboarding and hardware provisioning
Previous experience using ticketing systems
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
Excellent communication and phone support skills
Ability to manage multiple support requests in a fast-paced environment
