Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Dealership Controller to join our team. Reporting directly to the Dealer Principal, you will be the financial leader and a critical partner to the GM, ensuring operational efficiency, accurate financial reporting, and strong internal controls.

Key Responsibilities:
Full financial oversight of dealership operations.
Lead month-end close processes, ensuring all financial packages are submitted within a 6-day deadline, and final submissions by the 10th.
Work closely with Shared Services on month-end reporting and financial package reviews.
Build, lead, and develop the accounting office team (2 to 4 people, including Deal Clerk, AP/AR Clerk, and Office Manager).
Drive financial forecasting, budgeting, and weekly trending reporting.
Partner with the GM as the dealership’s primary operational and financial advisor.
Lead foundational system changes and support digitization initiatives.
Maintain dealership compliance, controls, and clean books to standard.
Support recruiting and team restructuring efforts as needed.
Requirements:
2+ years of progressive accounting or dealership Controller experience.
Prior automotive dealership experience strongly preferred.
Strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to drive accountability.
Familiarity with dealership management systems (e.g., CDK) is an asset.
Comfortable managing process improvements, systems conversion, and operational standardization projects.
Ability to work independently with minimal micromanagement.
Detail-oriented with strong communication and reporting skills.
What We Offer:
Competitive salary range: $90,000 to $160,000, based on experience.
Compensation Structure Example: $135,000 base + up to 25% bonus (~$160,000 total potential).
Bonus eligibility based on clean books and timely financial statement submissions.
No weekend work required (except rare system emergencies).
Regular hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
