We are seeking an experienced Dealership Controller to join our team. Reporting directly to the Dealer Principal, you will be the financial leader and a critical partner to the GM, ensuring operational efficiency, accurate financial reporting, and strong internal controls.

This is an excellent opportunity for a financial professional who thrives in a hands-on environment and enjoys the autonomy to run their business unit, with full support and resources.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead month-end close processes, ensuring all financial packages are submitted within a 6-day deadline, and final submissions by the 10th.

  • Work closely with Shared Services on month-end reporting and financial package reviews.

  • Build, lead, and develop the accounting office team (2 to 4 people, including Deal Clerk, AP/AR Clerk, and Office Manager).

  • Drive financial forecasting, budgeting, and weekly trending reporting.

  • Partner with the GM as the dealership’s primary operational and financial advisor.

  • Lead foundational system changes and support digitization initiatives.

  • Maintain dealership compliance, controls, and clean books to standard.

  • Support recruiting and team restructuring efforts as needed.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of progressive accounting or dealership Controller experience.

  • Prior automotive dealership experience strongly preferred.

  • Strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to drive accountability.

  • Familiarity with dealership management systems (e.g., CDK) is an asset.

  • Comfortable managing process improvements, systems conversion, and operational standardization projects.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal micromanagement.

  • Detail-oriented with strong communication and reporting skills.

What We Offer:

  • Competitive salary range: $90,000 to $160,000, based on experience.

  • Compensation Structure Example: $135,000 base + up to 25% bonus (~$160,000 total potential).

  • Bonus eligibility based on clean books and timely financial statement submissions.

  • No weekend work required (except rare system emergencies).

  • Regular hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

  • Opportunity to be part of a high-growth, respected group while independently running your financial office.

  • Access to shared group-wide support resources without micromanagement.
