About the Role
The Corporate Accountant is responsible for managing the full-cycle accounting across multiple corporate entities. This role requires the handling of confidential information – both written and verbal – with a high degree of discretion and professionalism. This individual will be well-versed in company policies and procedures and will work collaboratively with management and other divisions to support a variety of financial activities.

Job Title: Corporate Accountant
Schedule: 5 Days a week
Start Date: Immediate
Key Responsibilities
Reconciliations
Reconcile shared expenses and process chargebacks between related companies.
Manage day-to-day banking activities, including deposits, fund transfers and credit card reconciliations.
Cash management and Banking
Monitor and manage cash flow across all companies to prevent overdrafts while optimizing interest earned.
Track accounts receivable and promptly notify management of overdue or high risk accounts.
Prepare and file GST and other required filings to the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) for all corporate entities.
Coordinate with various divisions to ensure accurate financial data support business operations.
Accounts Receivable and Collections
Oversee and execute full-cycle accounting and financial reporting for all entities within the corporation, including day-to-day external transactions and internal intercompany activities.
Assist in preparing and submitting monthly mortgage draws, targeted for completion by the 15th of each month.
Support the Corporate Controller with various accounting specific tasks, implementation of new processes and operational accounting projects
Collaborate with and provide coverage for the Construction and Property Management Accounting teams during periods of absence or vacation.
Prepare monthly financial statements and supporting schedules for the senior executive team.
The Ideal Candidate
Post-secondary education in accounting or a related field is preferred
Minimum of 5 years of full-cycle accounting experience.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills across all areas of accounting.
Proven ability to produce clear, accurate, and well-organized financial reports, with effective verbal and written communication skills.
Experience with accounting software, particularly Sage 50 and Sage Intacct, is strongly preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with emphasis on Microsoft Excel, is valued.
Knowledge and experience in real estate and/or construction accounting is an asset.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and adapt to a wide range of personalities, work styles, and organizational cultures.
