Electrical Engineer
An Edmonton client is searching for an Electrical Engineer to join their team.
Electrical Engineer Responsibilities:
- Designing and developing electrical systems and components.
- Ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Conducting research to identify new technologies and advancements in the field.
- Analyzing and interpreting technical data.
- Testing and evaluating the performance of electrical systems, equipment, and instrumentation.
- Troubleshooting and resolving problems related to electrical systems and equipment.
- Ensuring the manufacturing of electrical systems and equipment is done to specifications.
- Collaborating with other engineers and professionals, such as computer engineers, mechanical engineers, and technicians.
- Implementing and maintaining electrical diagram software.
- Communicating with clients, stakeholders, and team members to provide technical expertise and support.
- Others as identified and assigned.

Electrical Engineer Requirements:
- Electrical Engineering Degree with a focus on automation process control & control panel design.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a related field.
- Registered with APEGA.
Preferred:
- Solidworks electrical schematic (or equivalent) experience.
- Thorough understanding of electrical control systems for industrial automation.
- Experience complying to international electrical standards and local electrical codes.
- Familiar with standard electrical bench testing and troubleshooting equipment.
Desired:
- Interest in mechanical systems.
- Solidworks mechanical/ PDM experience.
- Familiar with standards like IEC61010-1, IEC60204, UL508A and NFPA79.
- P. Eng designation.
- Experience with BOM management and an ERP system.
- 5+ years as an electrical engineer.
- Problem solver, team player, autonomous as they will be the only electrical engineer, hands-on approach and liking to be involved in multiple projects with various divisions.
- Solidworks, PDM, BOM, ERP.
- Hands-on experience with all their tech products, research and development, broad range of work.
Electrical Engineer Salary Range:
- $90,000-$110,000/year
